Two of five suspects pleaded guilty Thursday to covering up the murder of a Pueblo man who was found buried in a shallow grave.

Perry Lohnes and Priscilla Mitchell pleaded guilty to being an accessory to a crime related to the murder of Brian Swartz.

According to court documents obtained by 11 News, Brian Swartz's wife, Sonia Mitchell, wanted to kill her husband because of alleged abuse in the relationship.

Police believe Lohnes and Priscilla Mitchell, Swartz's sister-in-law, and three other suspects helped cover up the murder of Swartz. Swartz was found lying in his bed bludgeoning him to death earlier this year.

Court documents go on to say that cops later recovered the blood-stained mattress at a storage unit that Sonia Mitchell and another suspect, Eloy Varos, shared together. Varos is also charged with accessory to a crime. No word on any possible plea deal for Varos.

Detective also noted in the documents that in the numerous times they spoke with Sonia Mitchell, her stories would change. Sonia Mitchell has plead not guilty for the murder.

If a judge accepts the plea deals from Priscilla Mitchell and Lohnes, Lohnes will most likely skip prison and head straight to a halfway house and Priscilla Mitchell will get probation. Sentencing is scheduled for Lohnes on January 14, and for Mitchell on January 21.

Wow, this would make a good story for Anne Rule. I'm sure there are a lot of twist and turns here, but taking justice in one's own hands is not the way to go Sonia.
