You might not be able to run away from your problems, but moving to another state could be good for the soul.

New research suggests states with wealthier, better educated and more tolerant residents are also happier on average.

The index includes six types of well-being including emotional health, physical health and job satisfaction.

Here are the top 10 happiest states:
10.Arizona
9. California
8. Massachusetts
7. Washington
6. Maryland
5. Minnesota
4. Colorado
3. Wyoming
2. Hawaii
The happiest state in America is Utah.

The study says the most unhappy state is West Virginia.

The researchers say that because a state scores high or low doesn't mean you could find one resident and expect that person to be appropriately cheery or depressed.

Excuse me. I am form Utah. I am not Mormon. Just because Mormons live here doesn't make us have the number one spot. I love Utah...and to tell you the truth Utah is one of the nicest places I have seen (not just because I live there). Its even the nicest place to raise your family. Family friendly, wonderful sites to see...so tell me why wouldn't we be happy. Maybe some people should try coming in the winter time...
