The DNA test results are released in the case of a murdered Colorado Springs woman.
Seventy-six-year-old Patricia Neely disappeared last November. Several days after her disappearance, her car was recovered. Police say blood found in the rear passenger compartment and on the undercarriage of the vehicle match blood found on the suspect's clothes.
The suspect is 46-year-old Benno Welch, a transient who later died of a drug overdose. It is unknown if Welch's death was a suicide or an accident.
Neely's body was found in a drainage ditch in El Paso County earlier this month.
Police say Welch would have been charged with first-degree murder if he hadn't died. Welch was also identified as a suspect in three separate thefts involving the Neely family.
