One man is in the hospital after police say he was shot twice at a Colorado Springs apartment complex.

Police say it happened a little after 5 a.m. Friday morning at the Pinions Apartments on the 3600 block of Airport Rd.

Police say the victim is in the hospital in serious but stable condition with gunshot wounds to the arm and upper chest. Officers on scene told 11 News at least eleven rounds were fired.

"The victim has been able to at least give us a better statement at this point,” said Sgt. Mary C. Walsh of the Colorado Springs Police Department. “After being stabilized, he does say that it started inside 3611. The suspects chased him out of the building where more shots were fired," she said.

The suspect is still out there. Originally, police thought two suspects were involved.

If you have any information on the shooting, call Crimestoppers at 634-STOP.
