FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) -- Some opponents of the health care overhaul headed for a mammoth House floor debate in coming days are planning Colorado protests to try to stop the bill.
Members of the Colorado Tea Party anti-tax group are planning to protest outside the offices of several Democratic members of Congress. The group is planning to deliver shredded copies of the 10-year, $1.2 trillion House bill that could come to a House vote within days.
Other protests are planned in Denver and in Washington. On the other side, a group that supports reform is planning a Thursday morning protest at an undisclosed Denver insurance company.
The House bill is estimated to expand coverage to about 96 percent of eligible Americans.
