After a couple days of freezing drizzle and light snow along the Front Range, the mountains are getting up to ten inches Sunday.
The heaviest snowfall will be in the southwest, where it is most needed.
Southwest river basins are way below the 30-year average.
But the National Weather Service also has issued a snow advisory for Breckenridge, Winter Park, Idaho Springs and the Eisenhower Tunnel.
Up to four inches was forecast for the Front Range foothills near Denver.
A couple of inches were possible near Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
Light rain was reported in Grand Junction.
