Ted Haggard, who was dismissed from the mega-church he founded after a man alleged a cash-for-sex relationship with him, plans to lead people in worship again.

The pastor told The Gazette he is holding a "prayer meeting" Nov. 12 in his living room in Colorado Springs but said it would also be correct to call it a church.

Haggard says he has no goals of building something like New Life Church, which began with about 25 people in his basement in 1985 and grew to thousands of members.

Haggard resigned from the church in 2006 after a Denver man said Haggard paid him for sex.

The gathering Nov. 12 will include music, an offering to New Life Church and a talk from Haggard about the power of prayer.

timb, why do you think we are all Christians? The fact is, Mr Haggard placed himself in a position of trust and society has an image of how a person should act in the role that he played, in the position of trust. He blew it. While I don't think he should be punished, and I don't think people even care whether he should be punished, he should not be placed in this type of position again. Let society and the church decide . . . and they will. If he develops a following, I would seriously question the judgement of the followers. I, personnally, do not and will ever trust this guy.

I give it a year and Ted/Art will be back in the NLC building. In fact, if Ross Parsley would have been voted the pastor instead of Brady Boyd, Ted/Art would already be back there. It's too bad the "executive pastors" helped to hide his problems instead of holding him accountable years ago. I love how they say had "no prior knowledge" of Ted's/Art's issues when for years (before Mike Jones) they had to work like hell to cover his tracks. For crying out loud, Pastor Parsley brought in a former pastor of Ted's/Art's (Pastor Jeff Floyd) to work some deliverance for an "issue" years before Jones. Plus, Ted/Art made passes at several of his "Godly young men pastors", many of whom are still at NLC. The stupid factor represented by Ted and his former executive team are eclipsed only by the people that would support him. Preach about forgiveness all you want but forgiveness requires honesty which Ted, his former executive team, and the overseers have not provided.

Wow! all these "christians" amaze me! Amaze! remember the 1st stone throw? remember "Verily I say unto, do not forgive your brother 7 times, but 70 times seven"? So, he screwed up! who cares? hes a human! I am not even christian, but I may attend just to irritate the sadducees and pharisees! How do all of you know his intent? Whos to say he is not a man of God, didnt he bring thousands to the christian faith, and bring blessings to the hungry, to the needy? Didnt he have easter and xmas ceremonies that blessed this entire city? didnt he bus homeless to feed them and worship with them? Who did Jesus spend time with, and love? Thats why this city is so divided... so many unchristlike christians running around, whining crying and complaining!! God bless you and your family Ted, and I may attend just cause the establishment doesnt like you! now that is some truth. so everyone now go cry.
