A Bornean orangutan who gave birth at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs is refusing to care for her baby.

Ten-year-old Hadiah gave birth to a male Wednesday.

Animal area supervisor Dina Bredahl says zookeepers will keep trying to get Hadiah to care for the baby orangutan.

Hadiah was raised by humans at the zoo.

Bredahl says zookeepers are caring for the baby orangutan and feeding it a human formula by bottle.

Zoo officials may try introducing the baby to another female orangutan in hopes she can be a surrogate mother.
