Colorado Republican Representative Tom Tancredo is removing any doubt, announcing today he will run for the Republican nomination for president.
Tancredo made his decision official Monday morning while appearing as a guest on a radio station in Des Moines, Iowa.
That state holds the first political caucuses in the nation.
Tancredo is a leading supporter of securing the nation's border with Mexico, and cracking down on illegal immigration.
He's conceded that he's a long shot for president, but he hopes to rattle Arizona Senator John McCain's campaign by appealing to conservatives on immigration, abortion and other issues.
