An H1N1 flu clinic was held in Pueblo on Saturday morning at the state fairgrounds.

Hundreds of people showed up and waited in long lines hoping to qualify for either the nasal or flu shot vaccination.

Vaccinators were encouraged to dress up in their Halloween gear and parents were encouraged to bring in their kids. "With all the related deaths I thought it would be a good idea," said Pueblo mom, Grace Cozzetto.

"My son is in daycare and he's exposed to a lot of different children, within my employment I'm exposed to a lot of different people throughout the day and so for me it's a big concern," said Cozzetto.

The decision for Cozzetto to come in was easy, but that wasn't the case for everyone. "I was kind of hesitant to come here because I figured it would run its course, but I think I just wanted to be on the safe side," said Pueblo dad, Robert Gonzales. Gonzales brought his whole family who were all eligible.

The clinic accepted anyone under the age of 24 and 24 to 65 year-olds with health issues. "Everybody seems to be very thankful. I felt this is the best way to get a large number of people vaccinated who are at high risk and the earlier you're vaccinated the greater chance you have of fighting off this infection," said Dr. Chris Nevin-Woods, Public Health Director for the Pueblo City-County Health Department.

Out of the 4,200 vaccines available, only about 1,600 were used up. The Pueblo County Health Department says as long as there's a need they'll continue to hold H1N1 flu clinics.

For folks in El Paso County, a community H1N1 flu vaccination clinic will be held on November 11th at Coronado High School at 10a.m. for high-risk groups.

I think that is wonderful that Pueblo has these. Why have there been none in Colo Spgs or no announcements if there has been?
