Hundreds of police officers from across the state are in Aurora Friday for the funeral of colleague killed in the line of duty.
Thirty-seven-year-old Doug Byrne died about two o'clock Monday morning, some six hours after a one-vehicle crash that ejected him from his patrol car.
Byrne was responding to a call of a man who'd had a seizure.
That person died shortly after Byrne's accident.
Byrne's funeral started at Heritage Christian Center in unincorporated Arapahoe County.
He'll be buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
