The Colorado Department of Transportation says I-70 was closed from the eastern edge of the Denver metro area to Burlington near the Kansas border because of the bad driving conditions.
Also in northern Colorado, northbound Interstate 25 from Wellington to Wyoming remains closed because of bad conditions across the border.
Gusty winds and blowing snow has shut down nearly major interstate and highway in southeast Wyoming.
Highways in eastern Colorado, including Interstates 70 and 76, have re-opened.
