The fate of a Monument man and several others is still unknown today after their helicopter disappeared over Texas.
The helicopter last reported in Tuesday night as it ferried ten people to a drilling ship in the western Gulf of Mexico.
Forty-six-year-old co-pilot Donald Janning of Monument was among those on board the helicopter.
Searchers turned up pieces of wreckage and four bodies yesterday, but no names have been released.
The Coast Guard says a normally clothed person could only expect
to last about 30 hours in the Gulf waters, where temperatures are
estimated in the upper 60s.
Among the items found floating yesterday was one of the chopper's life jackets.
Everyone on board was believed to be wearing one.
