A ruling from the coroner in Colorado Springs says the woman whose body was found in a culvert probably had her throat cut.
Police in Colorado Springs today confirmed that was listed as the probable cause of death of 76-year-old Patricia Neely.
Officials say a definitive statement on the cause of death isn't possible because of the decomposition of the body.
The woman disappeared last November -- and after a few days her car and some personal belongings were found. But her body wasn't found until last weekend when a four-wheeler spotted the body in a culvert.
Colorado Springs police say they have the name of a suspect in the death -- but the suspect died about a week after the woman disappeared last fall.
They say they are awaiting lab tests to confirm a connection -- and if that happens they'll release information about the suspect.
