A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect at NOON and last through MIDNIGHT from most of Southern Colorado. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain once again. The state Labor and Employment Department reported June's
seasonally adjusted unemployment rate at five percent -- down from
May's five-point-two percent.
First-time claims for unemployment also dropped to an average of
about 32-hundred per week in the second quarter from 44-hundred per
week in the fourth quarter of last year.
Governor Owens applauded the news, saying the figures released
