Another case of animal cruelty is under investigation by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. Detectives say they found several horses in poor health at a property on Judge Orr Road, East of Colorado Springs.
The caretaker, 38-year old Audrey Hacker has already been ticketed for animal cruelty. But, hasn't appeared in court yet. She owns eight of the sixteen horses found on the property.
An Aurora man owns the other eight horses. But, detectives say he may not face charges, because records show he's been giving Hacker money to take care of his horses. She just hasn't been feeding them.
The animals have been taken to the Calhan Auction Grounds where they will be get medical treatment. When the animals get healthier, The Sheriff's Office anticipates moving them to the El Paso County Fairground.
