The first blast of winter has made its way into Colorado.

"Just roll with it," said long time trucker Seth Bretthauer.

He left Denver around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday and said he didn't run into any trouble spots until he got to Monument.

"Make sure you're prepared and take it easy," said Bretthauer.

Bretthauer says he's come to expect these conditions in Colorado. Other drivers say just maybe not always this early in the season.

"It's a little early. It's not bad," said one Monument resident. "Just stay home and bake cookies."

The winter storm has brought rain to some areas and heavy, wet snow to others. Teller and Northern El Paso County have seen accumulating snow.

"We've come through all kinds of conditions. Snowy, icy and nice. Everything. This is the first measurable snow of the year," said a driver, named Judy.

Judy stopped in Woodland Park Wednesday morning to get the snow build up off her car. She lives in Buena Vista and was taking her mother-in-law to a doctor's appointment in Colorado Springs.

Wintry conditions are expected through the evening commute Wednesday. Some roadways could get slick as temperatures drop. But, warmer fall-like weather will return to the area tomorrow.
