A morning fire turns out to be a very close call for a family in the town of Security.
It broke out just after 10 a.m. at Security Boulevard and Steven Drive, causing extensive damage to the house.
Luckily, the family inside were able to escape when a Qwest phone company employee, Keith Wright, came to the rescue.
"I was driving to my next case of trouble for telephone repair and I noticed that smoke was coming out of the vents of the home."
Wright even went back to save some of the family's pictures.
Investigators think embers from a fireplace may have gone up the chimney and started the fire.
One firefighter was treated at the scene for heat exhaustion but is, now, doing fine.
