A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect at NOON and last through MIDNIGHT from most of Southern Colorado. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain once again. Burn scars and areas that saw heavy rain yesterday will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
Colorado Springs Police arrived at 1160 Dancing Horse Dr. around 5:15 Thursday afternoon. When they got there, they found two juveniles inside the home, one had been shot.
The victim, now identified as 12 year old John Stapp, was pronounced dead when he arrived at Penrose Main Hospital.
On Friday, Springs Police announced they will charge the 15 year old girl who was also at the home, with illegal possession of a handgun.
Police officials are waiting on Stapp's autopsy to determine exactly how the boy died, and how the shooting occured.
Administrators at Eagle View Middle School, where Stapp was a student, are working to counsel students affected by his death. District 20 also prepared a letter for parents, giving them tips on how to talk with thier kids about the tragedy.
