President Bush has issued a fresh appeal for support of his national-security agenda with a special emphasis on his compassionate conservative goals.
Bush addressed the National Association of Evangelicals Convention in Colorado Springs via satellite this morning.
Bush called America a ``nation with a mission,'' and said the United States is called to fight terrorism around the world.
He stressed the importance of expanding ``the realm of human liberty,'' saying more than 50 (m) million people have been liberated from tyranny by U-S involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The association is an umbrella group for 50 denominations representing (m) millions of conservative Christians.
The convention runs through tomorrow.
