A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect at NOON and last through MIDNIGHT from most of Southern Colorado. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain once again. Burn scars and areas that saw heavy rain yesterday will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
Months after the threat of the West Nile Virus, a Weld County man has died from the disease.
58 year old Wayne Trowbridge of Milliken died this
week, making him the 55th person in Colorado to die of the
Trowbridge's wife, Sandra, says he was trudging through
rehabilitation exercises at home February 8th, when he suddenly
looked panicked and mouthed to her that he couldn't breathe.
Trowbridge never regained consciousness. He was removed from
life support six days later.
His wife says she's angry she lost her husband of 35
years over a mosquito bite. She warns others to protect themselves
when the insects return this summer.
