A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Several inches of accumulation will be possible in areas where these bands develop. For more information click the ‘Weather’ tab...
The troops are members of the 571st Medical Company
Unfortunately, not everyone in the troop is returning home.
In May, Chief Warrant officers Brian Van Dusen and Hans Gukeisen and Corporal Richard Carl died when their black hawk helicopter crashed.
On Jan. 8, Chief Warrant officers Philip Johnson Junior, Ian Manuel and Sergeants Michael Diraimondo and Christopher Golby died when their black hawk crashed.
Some of the troops say the homecoming is bittersweet because of the loss of those soldiers.
