Robert Bruce, 57, was official served with an arrest warrant Friday at the Pueblo County Detention Center for the attempted murder of Pueblo police officer Nathan Pruce and his family.

Court documents say Bruce is suspected of creating an improvised explosive device (IED) and setting it up at Pruce's residence. Bruce and Pruce were both supposed to be in court on Tuesday, the day the IED was found, neither were. Bruce was apprehended on a failure to appear warrant tied to that court case. Investigators say they found materials similar to those used in the construction of the IED in Bruce's home. They say they also found marks in his car that match up with the bottom of the propane tank found at the scene of the crime. Finally, a paper delivery employee says she saw a car parked in front of Pruce's home for the first time the morning the IED was found. She says the car could have been silver in color. Bruce owns a silver Honda Accord.

"Nothing shocks our collective conscious more than a plot to kill an officer, but also harm his family... All law enforcement officers know that if an actor is willing to prey upon those in charge of our safety, law enforcement, they really have no regard whatsoever for those of you who depend upon us," says Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor.

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office is recommending three charges of first degree attempted murder, because Pruce, his wife and son were all home when the IED was set up. Other recommended charges include: Intimidation of a witness, possession of an incendiary device, and criminal trespassing. Bail has been set at $250,000.

This is funny. Not that the guy tried to blow up this cops house and his family but the fact on how stupid the idea was. Who really just out of the blue thinks "im gonna blow up that cops house with his family inside"? Good think he was caught. What a dumb loser.
