A downtown Colorado Springs landmark is undergoing another transformation. A multi-million dollar renovation project will begin this springs at the Antlers Hotel.
The new owners of the 100 year old Antlers want to make the hotel more modern and "user friendly." The renovation will include overhauling all 292 rooms and suites in the hotel as well as the two restaurants and meeting rooms. The project also includes adding high speed internet access to the rooms to make it easier for business guests to do their work on the road.
Vice President and Managing Director of the hotel, Larry Vitagliano says the goal is to make the Antlers a four star hotel, with a bright future in the Springs.
The possibility of a convention center coming to downtown Colorado Springs could benefit the Antlers according to officials at the Chamber of Commerce.
The renovation is set to begin in the next month, and be completed by the end of the year.
The 200 employees at the hotel are all expected to keep their jobs.
