Still Thinking

Governor Owens says he won't decide whether to begin a campaign for the United States Senate for another week to ten days.

Owens says he's flattered by all the support he's received since yesterday for a possible Senate run.

Incumbent Republican Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell announced Wednesday he would not seek a third term this fall.

The chairman of the state Republican party issued a statement this morning saying he can't think of a more viable candidate for the office than Bill Owens.

GOP chair Ted Halaby cites Owens' friendship with President Bush and support of the President's agenda in encouraging Owens to run.
