Pueblo Man Charged in Double Homicide

A Pueblo man is now charged with murdering his mother and stepfather.

34-year-old Lee Cowan faces two counts of deliberate homicide, which is the equivalent of first-degree murder in Colorado. He is in jail in Arizona. He was arrested there nearly two weeks ago as he tried to enter Mexico.

Last week, his parents, 62-year-old Deanna Cowan and 65-year-old Chester Reistad, were found dead in their Montana home. His mother had bailed him out of the Pueblo County Jail. Cowan was being held on suspicion of kidnapping and possession of weapons. He is awaiting extradition to Montana.
