A fire has destroyed a building at the Air Force Academy. It began about 2:30 Monday morning in the Non-Commissioned Officer Association Hut. It's at the edge of the Pine Valley Housing area and near Air Academy High School.
Academy firefighters, with help from several other departments in the Colorado Springs area, were able to put the fire out quickly and keep it from spreading.
The NOCA hut was built in 1955 and was used for charity work, fundraising, and picnics. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
