E.coli Contamination

The change comes after 17 Coloradans were infected by E-coli
bacteria in ground beef from ConAgra's Greeley plant.
Officials at the U-S Department of Agriculture now acknowledge
they waited 12 days before telling the company they had found the
bacteria in its meat.
The new policy means the U-S-D-A will tell companies immediately
about any potential contamination. That way the meat can be
recalled while additional tests are done.
