Sam's Club Beef Recall

Beef Recall
By  |

More ground beef is being pulled from store shelves. On Tuesday, Sam's Club stores in 32 states, including Colorado, announced a voluntary recall of frozen beef and sirloin patties. This notice is in cooperation with the USDA and Carneco Foods.

The patties were produced on February 22, 2002 at the Carneco Foods plant in Columbus, Nebraska. The company issued the voluntary recall on July 15th, after a trimmings sample tested positive for E.coli. At this time, there are no reported illnesses linked to this contamination.

Sam's Club stores sold the beef under the Northern Plains brand name. The following are specific products involved in the voluntary recall:

  • Frozen Beef patties in 10-pound boxes with a code date of 2002 053 1317 and any number replacement of 1317
  • Frozen Beef patties in 6-pound bags with code dates of 02053 A1P and 2053 21P
  • Frozen Sirloin patties with a code date of 02053 21P

The Code dates are found on the bottom of the bag at the seal, or on the side panel of the box.

If you have any of these products, you're urged to return them to any Sam's Club for a full refund or replacement.
