Drugs used to manufacture methamphetamine won't be regulated after all.

A legislative panel killed the proposal, after drug companies and the Colorado retail council criticized it. Republican Representative Richard Decker of Colorado Springs sponsored House Bill 11-79.

The bill would have attempted to curb the sale of drugs, like ephedrine, by requiring consumers to provide identification and a signature to buy them.
