Three soldiers assigned to Fort Carson are dead after a bomb went off near their Humvee in Ramadi, Iraq.

The Department of Defense says the three died in the explosion last Friday.

The three have been identified as 29-year-old Staff Sergeant Joshua Hager of Broomfield; 23-year-old Private First Class Travis Buford of Galveston, Texas; and 25-year-old Private First Class Rowan Walter of Winnetka, California.

All three were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division at Fort Carson.

Fort Carson spokeswoman Judy Dutt says the deaths bring to 189 the number of Fort Carson soldiers who've died in Iraq.
