Pueblo's School District 60 has a new deputy superintendent. Dr. Edwards Fuentes replaces John Musso, who left the district in August to take a job in Washington D.C.
Dr. Fuentes comes to Pueblo from Austin, Texas, where he's the chief operations officer at the Austin Independent School District. He also worked for more than 20 years in various positions with the U.S. Department of Education.
"All the areas that we're asking him to supervisor, he's had those experiences and has obviously been very successful," says D-60 Superintendent Joyce Bales
As deputy superintendent, Dr. Fuentes will oversee technology, human resources, facilities, maintenance and operations, and the district's bond program. He will also assume responsibilities in the absence of the superintendent. Dr. Fuentes will begin his duties with D-60 on April 1st.
