Helicopter operations to drop water on wildfires that were halted when a helicopter crashed near Estes Park are scheduled to resume on Monday.
Rocky Mountain Interagency Helitack voluntarily suspended operations July 31st when pilot Gordon Knight died in a crash while working at the Big Elk fire near Rocky Mountain National Park.
Investigators have said they found that an overheated engine in the Lama helicopter that Knight was flying melted away its own steel turbine.
Rocky Mountain Interagency Helitack contracting officers say the board of directors has decided to resume the summer's work.
