A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect at NOON and last through MIDNIGHT from most of Southern Colorado. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain once again. Burn scars and areas that saw heavy rain yesterday will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
Experts say the unemployment rate was five-point-eight percent in December as fewer holiday jobs opened up than expected.
The rate is up from 5.6 percent in November, but it is even with a year ago.
Nationally, December unemployment was 5.7 percent, down from five-point-nine percent from November.
University of Colorado economist Richard Wobbekind says the state's economic recovery is continuing. He says manufacturing and service firms will be pushed to start hiring soon to keep up with economic growth.
