Colorado Springs business and civic leaders are asking the U.S. Olympic Committee to move its longtime headquarters to help spruce up a downtown development.
The relocation plan includes housing an Olympic Hall of Fame in a convention center and providing millions of dollars in financial incentives to the Olympics.
USOC executive Jim Scherr says the relocation is attractive but he says discussions about the move to a 100-acre site in downtown still are preliminary.
The USOC oversees and promotes the country's Olympic movement. It moved to Colorado Springs in 1978 after its Olympic Training Center opened there.
