(Boulder-AP) -- More than a week after a helicopter pilot was killed while dousing flames at the Big Elk fire southeast of Estes Park, his wife says she blames no one for the crash and is at peace with his death.

Fifty-two-year-old Gordon Knight died July 30 when his helicopter went down near Pinewood Springs, apparently caused by an overheated engine that melted away the helicopter's steel turbine.

The National Transportation Safety Board is still trying to determine what caused the overheating.

Susan Knight says authorities have been open with her about the
accident investigation and she has few remaining questions.

She says people have gone out of their way to give her answers and she doesn't have any anger right now.

She also says she never tried to stop her husband from flying
helicopters because that was part of who he was.
