Colorado State Patrol tells 11 News they have caught the driver involved in a high-speed pursuit with authorities.

Colorado State Patrol says they were chasing the male driver of a motorcycle on Highway 50 eastbound when he ditched his bike near the Pueblo Airport.

Authorities say he was initially going 63 mph in a 40 mph zone on Business Loop 50 when they attempted to pull him over. He then jumped on Avendale Road and went north, then onto Highway 50 westbound to the airport. The driver then lost control of his motorcycle and skidded for about 30 yards before taking off on foot.

Authorities initially thought he may have jumped into an SUV but they found the motorcycle driver in a building on airport grounds trying to wash his hands.

State patrol says the suspect is in custody and may have injuries from the crash.
