Both the dioceses of Colorado Springs and Pueblo are in compliance with a charter designed to protect children against sexual abuse in the Catholic Church.
Both dioceses were audited this fall and found to be among the 90 percent of the 195 U.S. dioceses complying with the charter for the protection of children and young people.
Tthe charter was passed by the Conference of Bishops back in 2002.
Both southern Colorado dioceses did have to make changes in order to be in compliance.
Victims advocates are skeptical about the audit because they say Bishops had too much control over how it was done.
Another report, tallying the number of sexual abuse cases in the U.S. since 1950, is due out late February.
