A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect at NOON and last through MIDNIGHT from most of Southern Colorado. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain once again. Burn scars and areas that saw heavy rain yesterday will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
A legislator thinks moving the State Fair from Pueblo to Loveland would give the financially struggling event a boost.
Republican Senator Steve Johnson of Fort Collins believes attendance would jump if the fair were closer to the state's main population center.
The Legislature has subsidized the fair at more than $2 million the last few years.
Johson concedes moving from the State Fair from southern Colorado wouldn't be easy. He expects people in Pueblo---in his words---to "go ballistic" over the idea.
