Thirty-two-year-old Staff Sergeant Georg-Andreas Pogany is awaiting official word from prosecutors on whether the case is over, or whether he still faces a court-martial.
Pogany was charged with cowardice October 14th following what he
described as a panic attack after seeing a mangled body in Iraq.
The Army later replaced it with the lesser dereliction-of-duty
charge, but dropped that charge December 18th.
Pogany was then offered a nonjudicial punishment for dereliction
of duty. Pogany instead requested a court-martial.
Fort Carson officials say the Army is reviewing its options.
