At about 8:26 p.m., on July 08, 2002, Raymond Randall called 911 to report that his common law wife Opheila Radley was unconscious and not breathing. Paramedics from the Colorado Springs Fire Department responded and determined that Radley was deceased.
The Sheriff's Office was notified and responded to the 4600 block of Emerald Drive, Colorado Springs. Randall told deputies that he left the residence at about 4:30 p.m., and returned about 8:15 p.m., and found Radley on the bed unconscious and not breathing.
The Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy this morning and has ruled that Radley died of ligature strangulation. Based on the cause of death and evidence at the residence this death is being investigated as a homicide.
The couple had only been living at their Emerald Drive address for a couple of months, prior to that they lived on Wade Lane, in Colorado Springs. Anyone having information about the death of Opheila Radley is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 390-5555.
