About a dozen post offices and branches in Colorado are among about 1,000 nationwide that the U.S. Postal Service is considering closing to save money.
Colorado locations on the list are:
Aurora -- Altura Station, Fletcher Station, Hoffman Heights Station.
Boulder -- Himar Station.
Denver -- Alcott Station, South Denver Station, Stockyards Station, Thornton Branch, Wellshire Station.
Fort Collins -- Old Town Station.
Pueblo -- Belmont Station (1025 E US HIGHWAY 50 BYP).
Officials were considering shutting down three post offices in Colorado Springs -- Antares Station (2641 E UINTAH ST.), North End Station (2940 N PROSPECT ST.), West End Station (204 S 25TH ST.)
Ron Perry with USPS tells 11 News a study indicated closing those branches would not be beneficial.
No word yet on when the branches being considered for closure will shut their doors.
