After a few home robberies over the weekend, Colorado Springs police say there are ways homeowners can stay safe.
Cops are holding a class on home security Monday night, August 3. It's a free class. You don’t have to register, you can just show up.
You’ll learn ideas on how to make your home a less likely target for crooks including:
1. Be careful where you put your spare keys. Thieves know to check under flower pots, welcome mats and window ledges.
2. When you're not at home, you can make it look like you are. Leave a radio or a TV on and if you can, leave a car in the driveway.
If you’re interested in taking the hour-long class to learn more tips, it’s at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. It will be in the community room at the Sand Creek located at 4125 Center Park Drive. That’s near the intersection of S. Academy and Fountain.
