Senator Wayne Allard has announced he will NOT seek re-election next year.
Allard made the announcement at the state capitol on Monday. Allard says he is proud of his tenure in Washington, but says he going to live up to a pledge of only two terms in the U.S. Senate.
Democratic U.S. Representative Mark Udall has said he plans to run for the seat.
On the Republican side, former congressman Scott McInnis has said he would run if Allard and former Governor Bill Owens don't. Owens has said he isn't planning to run for the seat.
