Roads are icy in spots that saw accumulating snow yesterday. Allow yourself plenty of extra time this morning and dress warmly, as wind chills are in the single digits and teens for many. A second disturbance will bring another round of snow showers to the Front Range this afternoon and early evening. While not as heavy as yesterday, some additional light accumulations over the higher terrain will be possible, including Teller and Northern El Paso Counties. Rescuers from the Pitkin County Sheriff's office pulled a 42-year-old snowboarder out of deep snow in an out-of-bounds area near Snowmass.
A news release said deputies and the Snowmass Ski Patroll found the man, whose name was not released, in a deep ravine early Sunday morning.
He called for help on a cell phone when he became separated from a companion Saturday.
The rescuers had to trigger several avalanches to reach him
