Frontier Airlines has a new regional partner.
The Denver-based airlines has signed a long-term regional jet service agreement with Republic Airlines.
Financial terms weren't disclosed.
Republic replaces Horizon Air as the regional carrier for Frontier.
It is one of two phases to Frontier's expansion plans.
The other is set to debut later the summer with a turboprop service to mid-sized cities in the region.
Airline spokesman Joe Hodas says Frontier has heard from a number of cities interested in landing the new service ranging from Wyoming and Iowa to North Dakota.
Cities have until Monday to submit proposals to Frontier with a decision expected in May.
