During his short visit to Colorado Springs Friday morning, Governor Bill Ritter discussed the importance of weatherization and energy-efficiency.

He helped with construction of a home undergoing major weatherization and energy-efficiency improvements, thanks to the recovery act. The government has earmarked 80-million dollars for Colorado. The state can use that money over the next 3 years to offer these types of services to mainly low-income Colorado homeowners.

The governor says this money will also help with much more than that. "This is a part of the recovery act spending where we're creating jobs and we're infusing money into the economy," he said.

From there, the Governor will head further south to Pueblo to speak at an annual meeting with Action 22, an organization that represents 22 counties across southern Colorado. The meeting will be held inside the Occhiato Student Center Ballroom at the CSU Pueblo Campus at 12:30 p.m. Friday. There, Governor Ritter is expected to talk about the state of Colorado's economy and how the southern part of the state fits in.

This all boils down to Colorado's government foolishly spending our money as well as not preparing to look ahead financially. I think it's time to vote them all out and start new again. It is ridiculous that we are this far in debt for Colorado, and it is ridiculous that the one thing...our fireworks to celebrate our freedom...was taken away from us in Colorado Springs by cutting the fireworks this year. Our government no longer serves we the people. Our government serves their own best interests. Wake up people!!!

Amazing he has time to do this when the money for unemployment payments has been in his hands since I believe June or July 1st. He has it sitting in a state account and won't transfer it over until late August. So people struggling are not getting paid, yet he still recieves his check from the tax payers. Also giving a no bid contract to his old law firm for $20,000 for a 3 month study on how to spend the stimulus money. Nice publicity stunt your pulling today Ritter, you are a true politician.
