The wife of a Fort Carson soldier who survived a helicopter crash in Iraq has given birth to a baby boy.

Raymond William Littlefield was born shortly before ten o'clock last night in Colorado Springs, weighing in at seven pounds, 14 ounces.

Twenty-eight-year-old Dawn Littlefield was in labor for 15 hours before the delivery.

Twenty-seven-year-old Sergeant Ray Littlefield was granted
emergency leave because of complications with his wife's pregnancy.

He was en route home November Second when the Chinook helicopter he
boarded in Iraq was shot out of the sky.

Sixteen soldiers died, including four from Fort Carson.

Littlefield may now have to return to Iraq by the end of the week, although a return date has not yet been determined.
