WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama says police acted "stupidly" in the arrest of prominent black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr.

Obama says he doesn't know all the facts about the arrest last week in Boston. Gates claims he was arrested in his own home, after showing ID to police who responded to a report of a possible burglary.

But during a prime-time news conference on Wednesday, Obama says blacks and Hispanics are still singled out for arrest disproportionately. The president, the first black man to hold the nation's highest office, says he's a testament to the progress minorities have made. But he says Gates' arrest in his own home is a reminder that racism "still haunts us."

Simply commenting. I do not hold bad feelings towards any particular group of people. I pitty ignorant people within a group. You do however have a lot of nerve speaking of yourself as a Christian. My point is ignorance has played a part of all of our lives. You don't have to be hispanic or someone of color to be effected by it. Not all races were given the race card.

I would love to beat the crap out of you.. and yes it would be a hate crime.. not because of the color of your skin but because your a complete idiot.

BJ, just where do you get your information from? Fox noise? Druggie Limbaugh? you know they just spin their facts to make people like you angry right? Their goal is to scare, intimidate and anger simple minded sheep into supporting their causes. you keep emphisising the word Hispanic like you are going to have a stroke every time you say it. Clearly you hate all 'colored' people, and you hold resentment towards them. Well that is not a very Christian thing to do.
