Kobe Bryant's defense team is ridiculing the prosecution's request for an investigation of media leaks. The defense says even the judge in the Oklahoma City bombing case considered such a probe a waste of time.
Attorney Hal Haddon wrote that an investigation would "divert attention and resources from the substantive issues" in the case. Prosecutors initially said Haddon might have given information to a retired judge who then talked to a reporter. Prosecutors later said they weren't asking for an investigation specifically of Haddon, but a probe to determine the source of the alleged leak.
State District Judge Terry Ruckriegle has scheduled hearings December 19th and January 23rd to discuss requests by both sides for hearings on various issues.
